Exning lies just off the A14, roughly 12 miles (19 km) east-northeast of Cambridge, 10 miles (16 km) south-southeast of Ely, and 15 miles (24 km) west of Bury St Edmunds. The town of Newmarket is 2.5 miles (4 km) south-southeast of Exning.
